What you know about Hawaiian Indica?

If you burn Pakalōlō (Hawaiian for Cannabis meaning Paka: “tobacco” and Lōlō: “crazy”) anywhere on God’s Great Green Globe — you no doubt, have heard of (or mo’ betta sampled) legendary Hawaiian Sativa strains like Maui Wowie, Kona Gold or Kaua’i Electric — but what you know about Hawaiian Indica?

Potent Pakalōlō strains like Puna Buddaz, Moloka’i Purpz and Hawaiian Duckfoot are all beautiful birds of dakine Hawaiian Indica feathered flavor.

Not only are these flaming flamingos as potent as they are pretty — Hawaiian Indica strains are practical and have been a part of local underground HI Cannabis Culture for Hanauna (Generations).

Hawai’i has a year round outdoor grow season; with short seasons and one long season.

Pakalōlō plants placed outdoors after Summer Solstice on June 21st, reap the benefits of being exposed to the most prolific hours of sunlight to bless the Hawaiian Islands during the year.

Long season plants can be started in April to allow ample vegetative growth and flowered until late Summer to early Autumn, depending on the strain.

You can also catch a wild wave ride outside, on one of our short seasons, Hawai’i is famous for.

Short season plants can be cultivated outdoors any time of year — outside of our traditional long season (April-November) with distinct “short season” designations landing around Winter Solstice on December 21st (the shortest day of the year) and late summer for those who missed long season (or just like get another short season harvest in).

Pakalōlō plants grown during short season will yield substantially less bud than long season crops — still “if can can…if no can…short season” — as we say here in Hawai’i.

Year round cannabis cultivation is yet another reason for the local saying:

Lucky We Live Hawai’i

During the winter months, when torrential tropical downpours can damage, even destroy massive Hawaiian Sativa limbs — battering & beating branches beyond belief — our Kūpuna (Wise Elders) teach us to grow our Hawaiian Indica strains.

Hawaiian Indica strains are study, resilient, can handle hot Hawaiian humidity — as well as rain — making them naturally mo’ mold resistant; a perfect choice for our outdoor HI short seasons.

Here is our Mana’o (Knowledge) about 3 of our favorite Hawaiian Indica strains:

~Hawaiian Duckfoot~
IMG_20190315_011948_477

Hawaiian Duckfoot has been cultivated here in Hawai’i for as long as medicated memory can record.

This old school landrace Hawaiian indica strain is still a Big Island favorite within our underground grower community.

Hawaiian Duckfoot is given to growers just starting out, so they can learn to master a faster flowering Hawaiian indica, prior to tackling mo challenging Hawaiian Sativa strains like: Maui Wowie or Kona Gold.

Hawaiian Duckfoot has prominent “Duck foot” leaves and enjoys both indoor and outdoor cultivation here in Hawai’i.

Hawaiian Duckfoot is a go to strain for pain, according to our Kūpuna (Wise Elders) who have kept this potent Hawaiian Indica strain in circulation for Hanauna (Generations).

As similar Duckfoot characteristics can be found in a few Australian strains, we believe Hawaiian Duckfoot has been here in Hawai’i nei for over 200 years — brought by sea and passed around the globe by people who know good Pakalōlō — on a quack pot quest to spread Aloha worldwide!

Phylos Bioscience Genome sequencing show us that Hawaiian Duckfoot is one of the most ancient strains in their entire database.

Pua Mana ‘Ohana is very thankful this strain still exists to this day.  Mahalo (Thanks) to our Kūpuna (Wise Elders) we are overjoyed to be able to provide this powerful Hawaiian medicine to you and your ‘Ohana (Family)!!
